Haikus of Easter

Easter haiku is
tricky challenge of the mind
Above grammar bad.

Chocolate bunnies
brown, creamy, earthy goodness
hollow but Solid.

Green paper grasses
padding woven wood baskets
rainbow eggs cared for.

Hiding eggs bunny
Momma knows him well
Always hides treasures.

After Easter the
Easter chocolates go on
half price sale-stock up!

I do. Totally. Easter M&M's are the best...Happy Easter and Passover, and for fellow chocoholics, Happy 1/2 price-day-after-Easter-chocolates!

We dug 20 holes
today
each 100cm deep;
a meter down
Test pits, they're called.
ways to test for previous
settlements,
villages,
outposts
or any human interaction with this
tract of land
in the past.

We found upwards of 15
flakes in 7 test pits,
evidence of human habitation
of this area.
Lots of flakes for a semi-random statistical
sample.

Flakes are little small sharp rocks
that have been knocked off
but a serious of artistic blows
to the face of the flint(chert)
when a human fashioned
an implement;
a tool.

The prescence of these
at the site
meant unmistakably
one thing
humans had been there in the past.
We couldn't really tell the scope
of the site
by just the two days of work that we did
but it seems promising nonetheless.

Other archaeologists will be working
on it next week
So maybe there'll be more flakes
turning up.
I'm hopeful.

Poetry of April

Here's some poetry to help celebrate April as National Poetry Month. I tried to answer the challenge of 2 poems created per day, but I fell rapidly behind. Here's what I was able to come up with so far....I will say thanks to whoever issued this challenge, and thanks to my friend and fellow artist, EonAiry, who told me about it in the first place- it has been a very artistic, mind-expanding experience. I completely feel great appreciation for poets. I did before and feel it more intensely now. I only write poems once in a while, which I already see is too seldom, and I hope to change that.

Poems are just words, like everyday conversation, but they seem to tell thoughts, feelings and ideas in a way no other communication can....

Oh and by the way, welcome to my Blog. Its an honor to have you here, and I hope you enjoy yourself. I don't know what the theme will be- right now its just a creative outlet...but I intend to enjoy it, whatever it turns out to be.
